Richter continues its support to refugees
In late 2015, Ricther’s Sarah Krause led an initiative to support refugees fleeing from their war torn and destroyed homes. Funds raised and basic needs packages were donated to the refugee community in Kempen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The story does not end there. While the issue of refugees is not as present in the media as a few months ago, these people in our communities and their sufferings are important. After the donations were personally delivered last year, the importance volunteers and additional support like Richter’s became even more apparent.
A second fundraiser was initiated in early 2016, and in June, Richter was able to donate additional basic needs packages to refugees residing in St. Hubert, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Sarah Krause commented, “The handover was very emotional and moving when seeing the gratefulness of the refugees for the donation of something minor like a basic needs package. You never realize how desperate their situation really is until you have seen it firsthand. It emphasizes the continued need for support.”
